Its multi-stage filtration starts with a sub-micron ceramic outer layer that captures sediment, rust, and microbial impurities, then moves through an NSF-certified coconut shell carbon block that reduces VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, chloroform, and other chlorination by-products. Together, they provide up to 800 gallons of clean, fresh-tasting water with minimal maintenance — all while preserving the confidence that every glass is safer for you and your family.

An easy-to-read End of Life Indicator (ELI) uses LED lights to tell you when it’s time to replace the cartridge — no guesswork, no interruptions. Hydro Guard™ Total Care Water Filtration Systems are designed to address a broad range of issues relating to your drinking water like taste, odor, chlorine and most importantly, items of health concern that are paramount to your family’s health and wellbeing.

The Hydro Guard™ U1000 Under Counter Water Filtration System incorporates a multi-stage water filtration cartridge designed to provide you with 800 gallons of premium quality drinking water with minimal service or maintenance. Hydro Guard has combined and enhanced proven filtration technologies to provide you with a product that will give you water that not only tastes great but also addresses contaminants of health concern.

The Hydro Guard™ U1000 Under Counter Water Filtration System also incorporates throughout the solid carbon filter Microban® technology. Microban® antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of bacteria that can cause odors and fouling of the filter surface, so your filter keeps working at peak performance. On an unprotected surface, bacteria can double in number every 20 minutes causing premature fouling of the water filter. Microban® antimicrobial product protection works continuously to inhibit the growth of bacteria that can adversely affect filter performance.

Microban® Carbon Block

Stage 1 –

Hydro Guard’s Radial Flow Filtration allows water to enter the cartridge through the radius of the filter. This allows the Stage 1 outer layer to trap and retain larger particles such as dirt, rust and sediment. The FDA CFR 21 compliant fine web polypropylene fibers do not impart color, odor or chemicals into the water and are an ideal pre-filtration media.

Stage 2 –

Water passes through the NSF Certified Coconut Shell Solid Carbon Block filter to reduce items of health concern. The 0.5 micron carbon block pores micro-strain the water to reduce (through mechanical filtration) substances in your water that are 0.5 micron in size or larger. The 0.5 micron pores also aid to increase the systems adsorptive properties. This allows water to have a longer contact time with the carbon wall and permits the efficient reduction of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s – Organic Chemicals), PCB, Pesticides, Herbicides, Chloroform and other chlorination by-products.

Ultrafiltration System

Stage 1 –

Hydro Guard’s radial flow filtration allows water to enter the cartridge through the radius of the filter allowing the filters Stage 1 outer layer to trap and retain larger particles such as dirt, rust and sediment.

The FDA CFR 21 compliant fine web polypropylene fibers do not impart color, odor or chemicals into the water and are an ideal pre-filtration media.

Stage 2 –

After water passes through the outer layer it then enters and passes through the NSF Certified Coconut Shell Solid Carbon Block filter to reduce items of health concern. The carbon block micro-strains the water through its 0.5 micron pores to trap micro-organisms and cysts. The carbon blocks chemisorptive process also allows it to effectively reduces Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s – Organic Chemicals), PCB’s, Certain Heavy metals such as Lead, Pesticides, Herbicides, Chloroform and other chlorination by- products.

Stage 3 –

In the final filtration process water passes through an array of sophisticated 0.01 – 0.1u Ultra Filtration (UF) hollow fibers for the effective removal of Bacteria, Viruses and Cysts. Suspended particles and materials of high molecular weight are unable to pass through the 0.01- 0.1 micron UF ultrafiltration membrane, allowing only fresh clean water and dissolved minerals to pass through.

Microceramic Filtration

Stage 1 –

Hydro Guard’s radial flow filtration allows water to enter the cartridge through the radius of the filter. This allows the Sub-Micron Ceramic outer layer to trap and retain dirt, rust, sediment and ensures key cyst and microbial filtration.

Stage 2 –

After water passes through the Microceramic outer layer it then enters and passes through the NSF Certified Coconut Shell Solid Carbon Block filter to reduce additional items of health concern. The 0.5 micron carbon block pores micro-strain the water and through the carbons Chemisorptive process it effectively reduces Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s – Organic Chemicals), PCB, Pesticides, Herbicides, Chloroform and other chlorination by-products.

End Of Life Indicator (ELI)

The Hydro Guard” End of Life Indicator (ELI) is another way Hydro Guard™ helps you safeguard your drinking water. The ELl measures time and informs you when it’s time to change your filter. This is an added convenience which takes away the guess work and helps ensure your drinking water system is working at optimal performance. Two LED lights update you on the systems operation. The YELLOW LED indicates less than 10% of filter capacity remains (it’s time to order a replacement cartridge), and the RED LED indicates the filter capacity has been reached, and it’s time to install new cartridge.
